This was a work Trip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The morning I left.

The trip. I was leaving on the 10th of December. First flight Halifax to Toronto After a 6 hour Drive to Halifax so stayed at the hotel and that is where I would leave my vehicle for the next week. A free service they offer. Early morning flight and uneventful so to speak.
That night had a great stay at my favorite hotel and met some fantastic new people. Had a great meal and off to bed early. Motel shuttle to the aiport at 5:30. and checked bags. I had one bag to check and one thing I would mention is that typically I book all of my own accom and flights etc.
The company I am doing work for insist I use an agency. From Toronto I flew direct to Cairo Egypt. Since I did not have a visa for Egypt I spent my time wondering the airport and Shopping. Lots of opportunity to see some sites as we landed and from the airport windows.
On the flight we received 3 full meals all of which were better than most of the kids favorite fast food joints. Them being up 10 levels from a bag of peanuts and a drink.
Meals on the flight consisted of fruit, hot meal, breads and drinks. Taste was good and all was more than palatable, coffee and a variety of teas were also available through out the flights.
Staff was fantastic, friendly, ready to answer question and make all travellers comfortable.
The other item I would mention is that my flight had to have 30 children on board. Not a sound, parents handled what needed to be hancle which was very little and all the children seemed laike seasoned travelers.
After Cairo another flight to Dammam Saudi Arabia then about a one hour Drive to Al Jubail. Photo on the right is driving up in front of Hotel
On the morning I left just after a snowfall. Thankfully the highways were clear as I had a 6 hour drive ahead of me.
Two things I learned years ago, the first is I live in Atlantic Canada, This means if you don't like the weather wait 10 minutes it will change.
Second is allow extra time. It is likely worth the cost and piece of mind.
This was the view out my driveway the morning I headed out
